ORTON-GILLINGHAM LESSONS
Orton-Gillingham is the Gold Standard for dyslexic students

We offer accredited one-to-one Orton-Gillingham reading, writing, and spelling lessons off-site. Also available is multisensory math tutoring.

Tutoring sessions are $50 a lesson.

Our one-to-one lessons will raise your child's performance to meet his or her potential. They will help your child learn to read at grade level. "Teach out" the reading difficulty by enriching their brain's language association area with phonemic awareness and simultaneous kinesthetic, tactile, visual, and auditory multisensory practice with alphabetic letter and sound knowledge. Choose the tutoring which was created for dyslexics and has an eighty year history of success. Orton-Gillingham is a multisensory, sequential, structured language education strategy.

Choose language therapists teaching in the only program in North Carolina that is accredited by two international accrediting bodies, The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) and The International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council, Inc.(IMSLEC). Greenhills School is a training site for AOGPE and presents Institutes and tutoring accredited by AOGPE and IMSLEC.

The program is headed by Marjory Roth, who has been a Fellow of AOGPE since 1997 and is a member of the Board of Directors of IMSLEC.

Psycho-educational testing results are required for admission to the program. However we will screen your child for a $100 fee if your child has not yet been tested for a Learning Disability. If we see high risk signs of dyslexia, we will admit your child to our program. Parent consultations and conferences are free. Placement Testing is scheduled for no additional fee during the first two lessons.

Any lessons missed due to illness, a doctor's appointment, a special program, or inclement weather should be rescheduled if the Orton-Gillingham teacher and parents can find a mutually agreeable time. Other missed lessons will be charged.

All teachers have successfully completed the 70 hour Associate Level course work toward The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators membership. Many have taught the Orton-Gillingham approach for ten years or more. Marjory Roth meets with parents and their child's tutor at conferences.
